Many people ask us: “Do you take my insurance?” The simple answer to this question is: “Yes, we take your insurance.” What does it mean that we take your insurance? For your convenience we will send a claim to your insurance company for the treatment we provide for you. We will accept payment from your insurance company. One of the confusing aspects of insurance is the difference between a dentist that is “in-network” and one that is “out-of-network”. What does it mean to be an “in-network” dentist (also known as being a preferred provider)? An “in-network” dentist has made an agreement with the insurance company to charge a discounted fee for the service provided. Here is an example: Normal fee for a cleaning: $90 Discounted “in-network” fee for a cleaning: $75 If your dentist is “in-network” with your insurance company, then they can only charge you the discounted fee. If your dentist is “out-of-network”, then your dentist can charge you the normal fee.
